President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Lays Flowers to S.A.Niyazov Monument
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov attended the flower-laying ceremony at the S.A.Niyazov Monument at the capital’s 10 Years of Independence Park to pay tribute to the first President of Turkmenistan.
Remembering the deceased is a Turkmen people’s time-honored tradition established thousands of years ago and transmitted from generation to generation; the tradition that is being continued with dignity in the modern era thanks to the humane policy pursued by the head of state.
This magnificent monument and a museum that opened last year in Kipchak at the initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov symbolize the warm tribute paid by the people of our country to the blessed memory of Saparmurat Niyazov who made a tremendous contribution to the establishment of independence, strengthening of sovereignty and recognition of Turkmenistan’s neutrality.
Early in the morning, the head of state arrived at the square in front of the capital’s 10 Years of Independence Park.
The Chair of the National Parliament, Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of military and law enforcement authorities, ministries and sectoral agencies, the mayor of Ashgabat, members of the clergy, representatives of public organizations, mass media, honorable elders, students and Ashgabat’s numerous residents gathered here.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov proceeded to the S.A.Niyazov Monument and laid a wreath at its foot. The head of state was followed by the participants of the ceremony who laid flowers to the monument.
This event became an expression of our people’s profound respect for the blessed memory of the first President of Turkmenistan.
