Days of Culture of Turkmenistan opened in Romania
On May 22-26, 2023, the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan are held in the cities of Bucharest and Constanta, to participate in which a delegation of Turkmenistan from representatives of the Ministry of сulture, artists, scientists, professors, and journalists arrived in Romania.
On May 22, a solemn opening ceremony of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in Romania was held in Bucharest. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of state structures, scientific circles and creative intelligentsia of Romania, heads and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in the country, the Turkmen-Romanian Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, as well as Turkmen students studying in the capital of a friendly state.
The current creative action is held within the framework of events organized in accordance with the special Decree of the President of Turkmenistan on the solemn celebration in 2024 at the international level of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding philosopher and classical poet Magtymguly Fragi.
In this regard, the program of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan includes an international conference, an exhibition, a poetry evening, a screening of the film “Istärin”, dedicated to the work of the great Turkmen poet and thinker, whose works are included in the golden fund of world literature. There will also be an opportunity to be acquainted with the national arts and crafts and art, original Turkmen cuisine and traditional costumes, song and musical creativity of the Turkmen people.
As part of the opening ceremony, an international conference was held dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi. During the event, the Deputy Ministers of culture of Turkmenistan and the Minister of culture of Romania, the head of the Turkmen-Romanian Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group from the Romanian side, as well as diplomats, scientists, cultural and art figures of the two countries, who noted the importance of the poetic and philosophical heritage of the great poet in the development of the world classical literature. It was also emphasized that the friendly relations established between Turkmenistan and Romania make it possible to successfully build up a multifaceted partnership designed to serve the benefit of the two peoples.
As part of the opening ceremony, a concert of Turkmen artists took place. The concert program included works from the national musical classics, folklore numbers, songs based on the poems of Magtymguly.
