President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov had a work visit to the Sochi city of the Russian Federation

On August 15, 2018, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov paid a work visit to Sochi city of the Russian Federation.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Vladimir Putin exchanged views on the priority issues of the interstate partnership in major fields in the context of the implementation of previously reached bilateral agreements and the plans for future.

Corresponding Intergovernmental Program designed for the years 2017-2019 is also aimed at full-scale practical materialization of the opportunities of the economic cooperation. That  three years period serves as a “road map” that covers all areas of Turkmen-Russian partnership in this sphere, including trade, industry, energy, agriculture, transport, high technologies, services and others.

During the meeting, Presidents expressed hope for further development of humanitarian interaction as an important part of the interstate cooperation and for strengthening of the efficient partnership in education, science and culture.

Leaders of the States summed up the fruitful talks and expressed hope that this meeting and reached agreements will be beneficial for further harmonious development Turkmen-Russian relations, which are based on the long-standing traditions of friendship, principles of equality, mutual respect and strategic partnership.
