Round table discussion of the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals in Turkmenistan
On August 16, 2018, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a round table dedicated to the issues of implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in Turkmenistan. The heads of the key ministries and agencies of Turkmenistan, UNDP, and representatives of the UNICEF and UNFPA in Turkmenistan attended the dialog.
Speakers noted that maximally clear concept of the universal security, principles of unity and mutually adapted views targeted at solution of the crucial issues of the world policy for the sake of successful implementation of the SDG form the basis of the state strategy initiated by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
One of the goals of the event is reconciliation of the SDG figures according to the changes proposed United Nations.
During the speeches, the participants of the round table were introduced to the specific proposals for determining the frequency of data collection in terms of SDG rates, for issuing a general collection with the Regulations and responsible parties for SDG in the country and the plan for arranging meetings between the key ministries and agencies of Turkmenistan with participation of the UN agencies in order to prepare Voluntary national review.
