The outcomes of the Heads of States-founders IFAS Summit were discussed in the Institute of International relations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan
On August 25, 2018, the meeting devoted to the Heads of States-founders IFAS Summit which was hold on the August 24, this year, was organized in the Institute of International relations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The employees from the Ministry of Foreign affairs of Turkmenistan, the heads of publishers, scholars, politicians, teachers and students from higher education and the representatives of NGOs participated in the meeting.
The goal of the meeting was to get familiarized with the work done by Turkmenistan during its chairmanship in IFAS.
The speakers noted the importance of addressing issues related to improving environmental, water management, social and economic conditions in the Aral Sea Basin and maintaining sustainable development in the region. The participants underlined the role of Program of actions on providing assistance to the countries of the Aral Sea Basin (ASBP-4) and the UN General Assembly Resolution «Cooperation between United Nations and the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea» while discussing the work regarding obligations in environment related SDGs and UN environment protection Conventions in Central Asia.
The participants emphasized the importance of joint Statement in improving living conditions of people dwelling in the Aral Sea Basin and activating cooperation among Central Asian countries during discussions of the outcomes of the Heads of States-founders IFAS Summit.
