Participation of the delegation of Turkmenistan in the 14th ministerial meeting "European Union - Central Asia"
On November 23, 2018, a delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan took part in the 14th Ministerial Meeting "European Union - Central Asia" at the level of heads of foreign ministries of Central Asia and the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Ms. F.Mogherini.
During the meeting, the sides discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest, including the further development of relations between the EU and the countries of Central Asia, regional integration, the EU Strategy for Central Asia, and the fight against common threats and challenges, both in the regional and in the international scale.
The parties reached a unanimous agreement on the need to consolidate the efforts of the European Union and the countries of Central Asia with the involvement of Afghanistan, aimed at collectively solving the primary tasks of maintaining security and preserving stability in the region.
Following the meeting, the participants adopted a Joint Communiqué, in which they agreed to hold the next EU-Central Asia ministerial meeting in 2019 in the Kyrgyz Republic.
After completing the official part of the event, Ms. F.Mogherini, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, gave a working lunch for the heads of the delegations, during which the parties exchanged views on topical issues of regional and international cooperation, including on the situation in Afghanistan.
