The prospects of development of mutually beneficial cooperation with Belgium were discussed at the MFA of Turkmenistan
On December 10, 2018, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan there was a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belgium to Turkmenistan (with residence in Baku) Bert Schoofs, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the events dedicated to International Neutrality Day.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Turkmen side expressed gratitude to the Ambassador for participating in the festivities. During the meeting, the parties considered the possibility of organizing contacts between the President of Turkmenistan and the Prime Minister of Belgium in 2019 within the framework of multilateral formats, or during the possible tours.
There was discussed the question of continuing the practice of holding regular political consultations at the level of foreign ministries leadership and was considered the possibility of holding the next consultations in Ashgabat in 2019. The parties also proposed to intensify cooperation of Turkmenistan with Belgium within the EU.
Speaking about the cooperation in the field of education, the parties discussed the issues of establishing direct contacts between the universities of the two countries. In addition, at the meeting there was considered the possibility of organizing various cultural events in Turkmenistan and Belgium.
