The Central Asian international ecological forum is held in Turkmenistan

The international conference titled “Regional Practice of Sustainable Use of Resources in Hunting Grounds and Protection of Wildlife” was held in Ashgabat. The conference aimed to review the best practices and approaches to management and use of wildlife resources.

The forum was organized by the Ministry of Nature Protection of Turkmenistan jointly with the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) as part of the EU regional project “Forest and Biodiversity Governance Including Environmental Monitoring (FLERMONECA).”

The conference was attended by members of environmental agencies and hunting organizations of Central Asian countries, Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation, international environmental organizations, experts from Germany, the UK, France, Austria and the United States, as well as Turkmen specialists in the field of environmental protection and use of natural resources.

The conference reviewed the experience of work in the field of legislation, use of land and natural resources that are open to hunting, as well as methods for monitoring the status of wildlife populations.
