Achievements and prospects for development of the Turkmen economy – at the IMPORT EXPO in Shanghai
The National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai hosts the first China International Import Expo, where more than 80 countries showcase their achievements and goods. President Xi Jinping welcomed the forum participants during the IMPORT EXPO-2018 opening ceremony. The forum is held under the aegis of the World Trade Organization and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.
The delegation of our country includes 20 participants, representing the spheres of trade and business, health care, the agro-industrial complex, textile industry. The national exposition that occupies the area of 81 square metres hosts five profile pavilions, familiarizing the expo participants with the trade and economic, investment, scientific and technological, recreation and cultural potential of Turkmenistan, as well as the strategy of the innovative development and the achievements of the state programmes on import substitution and export-orientedness.
The textile industry stand demonstrates environmentally friendly fabrics, clothes, accessories, knitted goods, and the national embroidery among others.
The Agricultural and Food Products Pavilion presents the agricultural products, grown and processed in the country. The exposition of the national sector of services and goods aroused the keen interest among the forum participants.
The Pavilion of Medical Equipment and Medical and Health-Improving Products demonstrates the novelties in the health industry, the advanced methods and services in this sphere.
The forum provides a platform for the meetings with potential Chinese partners and the presentations to identify the priority spheres of mutual interests.
The delegation of Turkmenistan took part in the session on trade and innovations as well as the Eurasian seminar on the trade in services, organized by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, Shanghai administration and the Shanghai International Trade Centre.
